Join Charlotte Hill O’Neal aka Mama C as she discusses her legacy as an activist over five decades of struggle.
A member of the Kansas City Chapter of the Black Panther Party, Mama C and her husband, Pete O’Neal, have been working for decades in Tanzania at the United African Alliance Community Center (UAACC). Mama C has an expansive view of the connections between many African cultures and resistance to oppression.
She is a practitioner of the nyatiti, obokano, and kamalen ngoni, all African stringed instruments. Mama C frequently collaborates with Hip Hop artists in Tanzania and across the world. Free and open to the public.
